AccuCOUNT Initial Setup Guide for QuickBooks

Before using AccuCOUNT to compare and receive inventory, follow these steps to install, configure and ensure proper communication with QuickBooks.

 

If you are using AccuPOS Retail Point Of Sale or AccuSHIFT Time Clock, and already have the QuickBooks Adapter installed, you may skip step one.

 

Step One – Install and configure AccuPOS QuickBooks Adapter

 

Install the QuickBooks Adapter

 

Insert the AccuCOUNT Inventory CD, select the ‘Install AccuPOS Adapter’ and follow the prompt.

 

Setup the QuickBooks adapter

 

The QuickBooks Adapter is the program that enables AccuCOUNT to exchange information with QuickBooks. It should remain open at all times. Closing it will disable AccuCOUNT from communicating with QuickBooks.

The QuickBooks adapter must be installed on the same computer that the QuickBooks program is installed on. The QuickBooks database file does not necessarily have to be on the same computer.

 

1.      Open QuickBooks, and log into the company file AccuCOUNT will be communicating with.

2.      Click Start>> Programs>> AccuPOS Retail>> QuickBooks Adapter

3.      Once the Adapter starts, QuickBooks will ask, “Do you want to allow this application to read and modify this company file?” Check Yes Always, and confirm.

4.      Go back to the adapter and click on the Setup button.

 

 

5.      Click on Path to QB company button, and browse to the QBW file that AccuCOUNT will be communicating with.

 

 

6.      Select the country using the radio buttons.

7.      Enter the Inventory Adjustment GL account number to be used when making inventory adjustments.

8.      Click Save.

 

 

Step Two –Setup and Register AccuCOUNT

 

 

Insert the AccuCOUNT Inventory CD, from the on screen display select the ‘AccuCOUNT Inventory’ and follow the prompt.

 

1.      Once AccuCOUNT in installed, Go to Start, Programs, AccuCOUNT Inventory, and click on AccuCOUNT Inventory.

2.      From the Start Menu select Setup.

3.      The browse request folder should be set with the path to the folder that the QuickBooks adapter resides in. If the adapter is installed on the same computer AccuCOUNT is, the path should be set to C:\Program Files\Attitude POSitive. If the QuickBooks adapter is installed on a different computer, share the folder (full read write rights) and set the path to it.

4.      Unless a specific site was specified in the QuickBooks adapter, the site name should be DEFAULT.

5.      If using classes in QuickBooks, enter the class you would like to post to.

6.      Click on the Registration button to register AccuCOUNT.

7.      Click Enter the AccuCOUNT Inventory serial number (you will find it in the DVD case).

8.      Enter the company name and address.

9.      Click on Register On Line.

If you do not have internet connection click on Register by phone. Registration support is available during business hours only.
